By using GradeInClass you agree to these terms. GradeInClass is an early-access product made by a former teacher; it is free while in early access, and it is offered as-is while it's still being built. If any of this doesn't work for you or your school, please don't use it — and tell us why at contact@gradeinclass.com.

Who may use it

GradeInClass is for teachers and schools. By entering roster or grade information you confirm that you're allowed to — that you have the authority under your school's or district's policies to use a tool like this for your students' data, and that your use follows those policies and applicable law (including FERPA and student-privacy laws). You, and your school, remain the owner of the student information you put in; we handle it only to provide the service to you, as described in the privacy policy.

Your account

If you sign in, keep your sign-in secure — you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

Using it fairly

Please don't misuse the service: don't try to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer it; don't use it to store unlawful content or anyone else's data you have no right to; and don't use it to harm students, other teachers, or us. We may suspend access that does these things.

Early access — what to expect

Because this is early access, features can change, pause, or be removed, and there can be downtime. We take data durability seriously — every grade change is kept with its time and the device that made it, nothing is overwritten, and everything is backed up nightly — but during early access we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you should keep your own copy of anything critical (the CSV export and your gradebook are always the source of record). The service is provided "as is," without warranties, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited — this is a free, early-access tool made by one person.

Stopping

You can stop using GradeInClass at any time. To delete your account and everything stored under it, email contact@gradeinclass.com from your account's address (see the privacy policy's "Deleting your data").

Changes, law, and contact

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA. Questions: contact@gradeinclass.com.
